SELF PUBLISHING
There has never been a more exciting time for authors as right now, because authors no longer have to be bound to large publishing companies who take complete control of an author's book and dictate strict contract terms in return for very little money.
If you've written a book, self publishing ensures that you maintain complete control of your work and your income, and I'll tell you how.
1. You stay in control of the publishing process. It used to be that once you signed a contract with a publishing company, all decisions about what happens to your book was taken out of your hands.
But self publishing gives that control back to you so you can decide for yourself what your book cover will look like, how much you'll sell your book for and where you'll sell it.
2. Marketing won't break your bank account. With a traditional publishing company, as an author you're expected to physically doe all the marketing for your book yourself which means travelling around doing author interviews and book signings, all at your own expense. But let's face it, if you're an unknown author, who's going to show up to hear what you have to say or want to buy a signed copy of your book?
But if you self publish, you can do nearly all of your marketing online and it can all be done for free which means no travelling and no expense.
3. You have the ebook option. Ebooks are more popular now than they very were before.
Many new authors are publishing their books as ebooks first before they venture into producing an ebook, and many others are publishing their books as only ebooks which is quick and easy to do and frees up time for writing more books.
Because publishing ebooks is fast and free to set up, you can write and publish as many ebooks as you want.
4. You can be involved in self publishing your book as little or as much as you want. There are some writers who love to write a book and then take complete control over the publishing and epublishing part of the process.
There are also writers who just want to write and are happy for someone else to publish or epublish their books.
And self publishing gives you both options. You are free to choose whether you want to immerse yourself totally in the publishing process, or have control over some of the decisions or let a self publishing company do all the work for you (including cover design, interior page formatting, barcodes, etc) while you get on with writing your next book, and your next, and your next...
The rise of the independent, self published authors is happening fast.
Why don't you join them?
